Valheim Plus on a dedicated server
Valheim Plus (V+) is a gameplay-tweaking mod that runs on BepInEx. It is not official: Iron Gate has no official mod support (Valheim 1.0 FAQ).

Sources: the two repositories and the fork’s INSTALL.md, read 2026-09-29. The fork appends “(Grantapher)” to the title screen to show it is not the official mod.
Tested versions
The fork’s COMPATIBILITY.md says to assume any combination it does not list does not work. For Valheim 1.0 it lists, as working:
- Valheim 1.0.15 (n-40) + BepInExPack_Valheim 5.4.2350 + Valheim Plus 0.10.2.0.
- Earlier 1.0.x builds with earlier V+ versions; one V+ version (0.10.0.3) is marked not working on Valheim 1.0.12.
Valheim 1.0.16, announced 2026-09-25, is not in the list we read, and neither is BepInExPack 5.4.2351. So we cannot say V+ 0.10.2.0 works with the current game. For older versions, the project lists Microsoft Store (“Xbox on PC”) builds separately and marks several of them as not thoroughly tested.
Installing on a server
From the fork’s INSTALL.md:
- Download the archive that matches your setup from the latest release. The release provides
WindowsServerandUnixServerarchives (andRenamedvariants). - Hosted server: if your host installs V+ automatically it may install a version that is broken with the current game. In that case use an archive with
Renamedin its name: the only difference is the file nameValheimPlusGrantapher.dll, so the host does not overwrite it, and BepInEx picks the newest of the two. - Unix: the installation comes with two extra files; the project points you to the “Configuration (Linux” section of the BepInExPack_Valheim page for those steps. See also our BepInEx page.
- Copy the archive contents into the game (server) folder, overwriting existing files.
- Start the game or server once, then exit; this generates the config file.
- Configure it and start again.
Verify the install from the title screen or the logs. According to the fork, the current release should show Valheim 1.0.15 (n-40), BepInEx 5.4.23.5, BepInExPack_Valheim 5.4.2350 and V+ 0.10.2.0.
Configuration file
The config file is BepInEx/config/org.bepinex.plugins.valheim_plus.cfg (BepInEx\config\... on Windows), created the first time the game or server starts (README). For a server, only the server’s config file needs setting up by default (README).
Version enforcement and config sync
- The README says both the game and the server should have the mod installed.
- With the
Serversection andenforceModon, only players with the same mod version can join, and you can only join servers with the same mod version. - With
serverSyncsConfigon, players who join receive the server’s configuration; their own file is not modified (README).
Crossplay and consoles
Consoles cannot run mods, and the sources say nothing about modded Crossplay servers: see crossplay.
