Valheim 1.0.15: Terrain duplication fix
Released: 18 Sept 2026 - Official source
Checked against the official notes on 29 Sept 2026
Everything below comes from the studio’s patch notes for 1.0.15 (see the official source link above), summarised and not quoted. The notes say the patch takes a few days to reach every platform, with crossplay still working, so the date above is the announcement date.
Changes
- Fixes an issue that could duplicate terrain and lower performance. Affected worlds may show visual seams; the notes say to deform the terrain along a seam or walk on snow there, and that seams now persist correctly instead of coming back after reloading.
- Both Jotun Warrior types now drop both medium and heavy armour moulds, which raises the drop chance of the Deep North armour moulds.
- Writhan spawn rate and areas are increased.
- Items affected by dev commands are no longer marked on characters that have the dev bypass command enabled, the naming is updated, and those items can stack together again.
Known issues explained in the notes
- Items wrongly marked as cheated: a fix is planned for a later patch, because it must ship on all platforms at once to keep crossplay working. The notes say those items can be used normally meanwhile.
- Lost item levels and variants on item or armour stands: caused by the save format introduced in 1.0 and fixed in patch 1.0.12, so worlds converted from now on convert correctly. For already-affected worlds the notes give two workarounds, restoring the backup made when the new save format was first loaded (which loses progress since then), or copying that backup, moving the affected items onto a character and back to the main world.
Food data
The notes do not mention any change to food values. Food values on this site come from community wikis and are unaffected by this entry.
